SWIFTServer S Series

Centre-side high-density cluster appliances. Each 2U node carries 192 or 384 concurrent 1080P streams with multi-node hot standby and service-level transparent failover — built for city, province and carrier-scale aggregation.

SWIFTServer S Series 2U high-density cluster node
Purpose

Break the physical carrier limit

At city and province scale the constraint stops being storage and becomes the number of nodes required. Every additional node means more network pressure, more rack space, more power and more failure surface. The S Series attacks that directly by putting hundreds of concurrent streams into a single 2U chassis.

  • 384-stream density — standard and enhanced versions at 192 or 384 concurrent 1080P streams.
  • Multi-node hot standby — N+M clustering with service-level transparent failover for round-the-clock tasks.
  • Dual redundant power — measured 200–300 W for S192 and 400–600 W for S384, with redundant supplies.
  • Carrier-grade reliability — deliberately engineered for extreme environments and zero-tolerance uptime requirements.
  • Built-in management — the enhanced version adds a video management platform and solid-state expansion.
Outcomes

Four effects on the estate

Storage released

Footage compressed to roughly one tenth of its original footprint, removing physical carrier pressure.

Retention extended

Historical retention extended from thirty days to six months on the same capacity.

AI preserved

Core target features retained so downstream structured analysis is unaffected.

Reliability engineered

Multi-node cluster hot standby with service-level transparent switching.

Reference deployment

Nearly a thousand streams, six-month retention, no downtime

Provincial correctional facility

High-density convergence and compression

Constraints

  • Extreme concurrency. Nearly a thousand round-the-clock streams arriving simultaneously, overloading conventional node counts, network and servers.
  • Storage cost. High-definition capture made 30-day retention the physical and budgetary limit.
  • Zero tolerance. Gap-free coverage is mandatory, so single-node failure risk was unacceptable.

Solution

  • S Series standard and enhanced nodes, each carrying up to 384 concurrent 1080P streams.
  • Multi-node cluster hot standby with service-level transparent failover.
  • Ten-to-one compression applied to the archive.

Result

  • Physical carrier pressure resolved by consolidation.
  • Retention extended from 30 days to six months.
  • AI structured analysis completely unaffected.
Footage reduced to roughly one tenth of its original footprint with picture quality and analytical usability fully preserved, delivering a 70% reduction in supporting build cost.
